Enjoying the Plateau-ing Chill

To be honest, I’m in a bit of a plateau.

For most of my journey with LIVE A GREAT STORY, I was always working really hard… I think?

I was constantly coming up with new ideas, trying to grow new branches, do so much of so many things.

I was up early at the coffee shop by 8am, working late nights and of course on the weekends.

Never was it work, because it was fun. I lived the quote “find something you love and never work a day in your life.”

For years.

Editing videos.

Writing blog posts.

Marketing.

Scheming.

Work. work. work.

Hustle. hustle. hustle.

In the end, year after year, I wasn’t really moving the ball.

The brand was growing, more social media followers, eventually more revenue.

But I wasn’t really making real money.

For all the hours I was working, I was making pennies on the hour.

Things would get rolling in one area and then I’d hop to the next. Then that first area would start to crumble and I’d hop back and fix it… then on to the next.

I was going wide, not deep.

And it wasn’t really working.

This year, I’ve decided not to go wide, but go deep.

And I’ve found that I really don’t need to go that deep to really move the ball.

My days are pretty not-full of work.

I build new ads occasionally.

I reply to customer service emails occasionally.

I look at my Shopify dashboard way too often.

And I order new items from Alibaba.

It’s really simple.

And I’m up 47% revenue from last month.

Slow and steady, staying focused, doing the small things.

It’s pretty boring.

2021 will be way different and I know it will get crazy because I’m switching up some fundamental parts of my business…

But for now, I’m plateau-ing and just enjoying the cruise.
