Vision + Strategy
There’s two parts to bringing ideas to life : vision and strategy.
Vision is seeing. Strategy is doing.
Vision is by nature founded in the future, looking towards “out there”, further, later, what’s possible. The origins come from the 14th century relating to a “dream, trance or ecstasy, especially supernatural”.
Strategy is by nature founded in action, in the execution, the right now. The origins trace back to military Greece meaning “to act as a general” with “a careful plan or method”.
Vision is in the air, strategy is on the ground.
Although both can exist independently, they work better together.
To see a mystic future that doesn’t exist, something intangible, far out and almost dreamy, is vision. The next step is bringing that vision down to earth for tangible steps, a plan, execution with a careful plan of how to actualize the vision.
By nature they’re opposing skill sets, air and ground. Each partially exists in their counter but the full actualization comes from the weaving of the two. different. parts. together.
