Look Good Naked
“Why do you work out?”
“To look good naked.”
It’s pretty much true… kinda
That’s the main objective but underneath that goal are subsequent goals that happen as a result of the first.
By focusing on getting to the top of the pyramid, there’s a cascade effect of accomplishing other goals.
If I want to look good naked, that means I also have to…
Eat healthy
Sweat often
Drink water
Watch my alcohol intake
Be aware of the nutritional content of my food
Focus on different and new workouts
It’s kind of like The One Thing idea:
“What’s the one thing you can do, such that by doing it, everything else will be easier or unnecessary?”
Except it’s:
“What’s the one thing goal you can focus on, such that by doing it, everything else will be easier or unnecessary?”
Besides wanting to look good naked, I’ve seen this same concept apply in other areas of my life recently.
“Publish everyday” has been a daily goal for the last couple of weeks, which has cascaded down into being more aware of my thoughts, being more intentional about my goals, practicing my writing and thinking more strategically in terms of what people want to read.
By aiming for a simple, overarching goal, you can accomplish lots of little goals at the same time.
Try it out.
