Zach Horvath Common Vandal LIVE A GREAT STORY

Hi.

Let’s chat about the rollercoaster of life and how amazing it is to be on the ride

FOMO, clocks and living thousands of realities

FOMO, clocks and living thousands of realities

When was the last time you DIDN’T check your phone before going to the bathroom in the morning?

I’ve sadly heard it said that the first and last thing people touch in the day is their phone.

The problem isn’t the phone itself, but what the phone stands for… and what it doesn’t.

“Embrace your reality, it’s the only one you have.”

I just got off the weekly LIVE A GREAT STORY call and we ended up talking about this idea almost the whole time (mainly because I brought up my recent phone-in-the-car moves).

On our phone is another reality. It’s not OUR reality. It’s thousands of other peoples.

Which means we’re living outside of our own reality.

Milton said, “The clock was maybe the worst invention” because it took people away from the now.

As soon as people started paying attention to the time, they had to be somewhere at a certain point, to think to a different place in the day.

I’’s not the now, when really the now is all we have.

FOMO is missing out on something else that’s happening somewhere else.

But that’s not your life. That’s someone else’s. By wanting to be there, we’re not here in our life.

The goal isn’t to want to be there…

The goal is to be here.

To live our life.

To act in our life.

To be us, in our life.
